Default Wastegate pre-load - where did it go?

A few weeks ago I started to notice an unusual noise in the downpipe/centre section of the exhaust and after much investigation, found that the actuator had no pre-load allowing the wastegate to 'rattle' and no doubt, bleed a tiny amount of exhaust past the button.
I re-set the pre-load after talking to Lateral Perf. (It's an MDX321T) It cured the unusual noise problem but I found I was now getting some overboost. Luckily, this was easily cured by adjusting the AVC-R boost duty value. (After talking to JGM) Boost now seems to build more quickly making the car feel quicker! Assuming all was OK when the car was mapped, my question is, where did the pre-load go? Assuming it was set correctly when the turbo was built, it's less than a year old and 2k miles, why would it change?

Thought I'd revive this a bit in case anyone with comment might have missed it.
It might make one or two consider doing a quick check?

As i said in your other thread, im also fiddling my actuator ha ha, no pun intended.

i had no preload either, none at all, unclip the arm and there was no tension there at all, if anything, it was slack, i made 5 half turns before the eyelet went out of alignment before any preload was done !

If you unclip the arm, it should pull back a small amount, with some force.
