Default Prosport oil pressure sensor fitting

Noticed this pressure senser is weeping slightly and was going to tighten it up. Though IIRC these brass fittings are dangerous to over tighten right? Am I safe to give this a nip?

Also noticed the body of the sensor T piece was melting slightly against the manifold body. Is there a risk this might damage the manifold or undermine the sensor body? Should this be relocated?

As said PTFE tape or a liquid sealent to seal the threads. If the plastic body of the sensor is getting hot and melting this could be a MAJOR problem if it distorts enough that the pressure sensor blows apart.

PTFE tape, yes, but don't overdo it, and always wind it so that, as you screw the sensor back in, it TIGHTENS the tape.

Can you put something in between the two to stop heat exchange?

I can PTFE tape it no probs but I can see PTFE tape has been used on the dry side of the T piece so I'm sure it has also been used by the installer on the wet side. Just maybe needs a nip to tighten it. I guess I should prob locate it off the manifold if poss. Just need to be careful where I put it coz its obviously hot itself. Will also be limited by all the hose and power leads.

I'm getting some exhaust heat wrap for my down pipe. I could maybe wrap a little bit of that round it to separate it from the manifold and leave it where it is.

Sounds good. Nip it up a little if you want, but if you CAN get to it, I'd be inclined to replace any PTFE tape present, then nip it up, less than 1/4 turn is good.
