Default 2006 2.5 WRX Engine Management Light

I have a UK impreza 2006 2.5 WRX 45,000 miles. The engine management light came on a few days ago then went off after I restarted the car. No fault codes were stored. The light is now back on and still no fault codes. Resetting the ecu turns the light of for a short time. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance

John

No idea man could be too many things.

Have you changed anything recently or noticed any changes in the car?

What are you using to read the error codes?

DTV HSR Nothing changed or played with. Possibly more lumpy idle when cold but I may be imaging that. Management light seems to go off after restarting when engine is hot.

Scooby1929 is that something that can be cleaned?

Jolly using ecuexplorer. Thought maybe program was playing up first so I disconnected air flow meter then checked error codes again. Showed the correct code for that.

Have looked again with ecuexplorer and realised that the Secondary air pump fault codes are not known in the program, hence why it cannot recognise them. Is there a free program that anyone can recommend that is more up to date.

Getting there slowly used this free program to get the fault codes P2444 and P0410 both to do with Secondary air pump.

Thanks to DTVHSR for pointing me in the right direction. Hope this program helps others.

Cleared the fault codes for now using the program I downloaded. If it comes back I will be speaking to a top man Richard aka fiesta boy on here for a price to carry out the work. He only works on Subaru btw.
