Default Boost issue

Right this is my first turbo car

I keep greeting different boost bar levels normally I hit 1.0 bar but when I have been driving it will only boost to 0.5 bar and no further the engine is trying to pull but the turbo just stops at 0.5

Is there an aftermarket boost controller or bleed valve fitted? Also, what year?

Likely to be the boost control solenoid or actuator if the car is standard.

I'd be inclined to think boost control solenoid then. Can you get the lend of one to try it out?

That's a 3 port valve which I think may be the one you have. If not, it's a 2 port valve which looks the same but doesn't have the vacuum pipe at the top.

It's located at the drivers side on a RHD car.
