Default Oil pressure - is low and fluctuates in an odd way when braking or accelerating.

My oil pressure is low according to my prosport gauge. When the oil is warm it'll actuall drop to 0bar on tickover - although no oil light comes on the daash. And at 3000 revs it'll read just over 3bar. If I'm driving along and brake reasonably hard the oil pressure goes up (5bar) even though the revs are dropping. If I accelerate the oil pressure goes down even though the revs are rising. Odd.

Any ideas? Obviously worried. Failing oil pump? Oil pick-up?

Prosport Gauges are prone to sensing issues, Mine did the similar and read 16psi less than actual then started to gain pressure after a 3 mile drive it was reading 150 psi which is wasnt.

how long does it take for the engine oil light to extinguish on cold start ?? and longer than a second ish then its pickup pipe issues

I'm assuming you have checked the oil level? What you are describing sounds like oil surge.

oil pressure sensor.or oil filter may be old and blocked.
i would try a good oil flush like forte.run car up the road for about ten mile drop oil change filter and see if its any better if not i would change oil pressure sensor

Mmm.............There's a possible clue? I'd get those awful Prosport gauges checked out first, though
