Default UK turbo -getting the right parts

I have no doubts I'll be flamed for this one, but the answer doesn't seem clear cut to me so here goes.

When browsing through various catalogues, deciding what to get next for the Impreza, I notice that practically everything is specified as being suitable for a WRX, STi or both. Couple of examples below:-

http://www.subarupartsstore.co.uk/pr...%7C016_PRSH015

http://www.scoobyworx.com/1999-2000-...kits-217-c.asp

As a MY00 UK turbo owner, which is neither, how would I know which to get? Not many sites specify "UK turbo" in their description. I'm presuming that as mine isn't an STi, I should be selecting WRX options.

Any hard and fast rule(s) for identification?

Not specifically, but those were the first two examples I could quickly find - they just happen to be for hoses. I'm sure if I were to look harder, I could find others.

Some retailers are better at it than others: Scoobyparts are pretty good for specifying, Scoobyworld are not far behind.

CDF Racing's site also shows a lot of its stuff is "suitable for WRX/STi"; in fairness they do specify model years as well, but for those of us who don't know the in depth mechanical differences between UK turbos, WRXs, STIs, etc, I wondered if there was a rule of thumb.

As Chris Tarrant used to say, it's only easy if you know the answer.

Whilst on the subject of identification, Scoobyworld use engine versions (V3, V4, V5 etc) quite a bit in their descriptions - I presume mine is a V5?

Tbh I dont think it matters much aslong you get the right version of your car, for example v5 uk, sti, wrk, brake pads would be the same for the 4 pots. I may be chatting crap btw lol

Don't worry, it wasn't a dig

I realise I'm in quite a minority with a UK turbo; but I can't be the only one who has noticed that the vast majority of Imprezas and their parts/upgrades are heralded as WRX or STi.

Easy to choose your options if you own a WRX or STi, but for a UK turbo, it's not as black and white.

As others have mentioned, I don't suppose I'll go far wrong by ensuring I pick items for an MY00.
