HELP please. HEAVY KNOCKING
I have a 1999 face lift 'Classic Scooby'. It is a high miler- 100,000 + most motorway stuff.
All has been going wel untill, at nearly idle speed, the lump developed a very heavy KNOCK fr0rm what appears to be the Left hand top front part of the engine. It is engine speed related
Sounds expensive!!
I know little about Scooby engins
Any ideas?
I switched it off staright away.

Doesn't sound good mate. From the small amount of info that you've supplied, it sounds like big ends... Do some research on here for the symptoms and what you can do to rectify it.

It's hard to tell what the noise is. Could be as simple as a water pump or cambelt bearing noise. A video may help to tell. Or could be bad like broken ring land, little end or big end bearings, broken valve or dropped the shim etc etc. Was it still running on all 4?
