How much oil is too much oil in a TMIC?
Hi All,
I've bought a newage STI TMIC for my 2003 WRX. The TMIC is in imacculate condition with hardly any bent fins and no corrosion what so ever!
BUT, the silicone pipe that connects to the turbo has a thick coat of oil. There is no oil on the outlet, but i'm wondering how much oil is on the inside and if its going to cause efficiency issues?
I know all intercoolers will have a small amount or thin film of oil, but how much is too much?
Is it possible to clean the TMIC insides? if you can, how?
Cheers to everyone in advance!

It's hard to say, there's always been a fair amount in the silicon pipes of the ones I've changed. Run some brake cleaner through it followed by water from a hose, then let it dry out.
