Default 3 port help

iv recently fitted a 3 port boost solenoid to my 2005 blob STI which is currently mapped with decat turbo back exhaust, pink injectors, 225 fuel pump and k&n panel filter,

now i was told it should over boost once fitted and it doesn't its boosting the exact same as when the 2 port oem was on, i was intending to have it mapped straight away but now as its not over boosting im in no rush to but does this mean its faulty?

thanks

Have you routed and changed all of the existing vacuum pipes?

Every time I've fitted a 3 port the boost isn't controlled the same without mapping. It'll come in sooner, stronger and oscillate throughout the rev range. I'd be very surprised if that isn't happening. Did you remove the restrictor pill from the piping? Are you eyeballing a boost gauge?

Is it worth removing the pill from the 2 port on the same car? Will it make any difference

No, you'd struggle to make much more than actuator boost. It's there for a reason and should only be removed if you're moving to a 3 port setup.
