i put mine in the intercooler pipe just before the throttle body, i had a local place weld an alloy boss onto the pipe to take the thread for the sensor.
you can just see it on this picture coming off to the left of the pipe as you look at it

TMIC is more of an issue though - some have welded a boss to the TMIC for this.
We do some joiners for FMICs that have a boss moulded in, but I don't think they're suitable for TMIC, unless someone can tell me the internal pipe diameter at the TMIC-side?
