Default Replacement Cats

Hi

So you may have seen my other thread about MOT failure and high emissions.
One air filter replacement, some oil and italian tune up later, its still failing.

I assume the Cat has gone. But that's as far as my knowledge goes. There's more than one cat right? So do I replace both, or just one? Car is a Standard Turbo 2000 with PPP. Is there some sort of prodrive cat fitted instead of a standard one?

thanks

Not sure, its excessive carbon monoxide.
I think a couple of days ago it was 40-50%. Today it seemed more, but the car wasn't really up to temperature.

The correct results will enable a better diagnosis. The test centre should have given you a print out. Without it. Its like p**sing in the wind

They did not. He just kept telling me what the result was. 41% first test, 51% the next.
Better make a trip back there then

Nope, its me who's an idiot. I had the right paperwork all along.
In short, its failing on fast idle test, where CO is concerened. Looks all good apart from that.

it says:

Test One:

fast Idle test Limit Actual Value

CO =<0.2% 0.51%
HC =<200ppm 38ppm
Weird symbol 0.97-1.03 1.004

Test Two:

fast Idle test Limit Actual Value

CO =<0.2% 0.41%
HC =<200ppm 22ppm
Weird symbol 0.97-1.03 1.002

Natural Idle Test

CO =<0.3 0.12%

really appreciate your help turbotits, and anyone elses
