Default Aircon on/off/on/off/on ???

Hi,

been using the aircon a little more with the nice weather and noticed something I would like to know if its normal or not.
I have been using the aircon a little over the winter to keep the system going, but dont know about previous owners. Iv had the car for about 18 months.

When aircon is ON, I can feel the clutch engaging and disengaging many times by the car loosing/regaining power. like when the AC clutch disengages, its like I prodded the gas pedal a little.

Now I understand this maybe normal.. but the AC engages and disengaged about every 3-4 seconds.
is this normal?? or does it need a re-gas or is there possibly a fault??

thank you

Doesn't sound right to me. In colder weather mine engages/disengages every minute or so. In the hot weather it doesn't switch off at all. When the charge got low (I had a crack in the condenser) it wouldn't switch off at all as in hot weather. The difference here was no cold air in the cabin.

Your gas is low, mine was doing the same. So I topped it up with some gas I get from halfords on Friday. Now it's perfect.

Had the Same problem with my last car which was a fiesta st.
