Default Strange noise I can't pinpoint.

Afternoon all,

So recently I've noticed a strange noise coming from where I think can only be the passengers side front wheel area. It only happens when you've been pushing on for a while in the twisty's. I find that when I turn hard to mild right there's a kind of grinding noise like the disc is rubbing or something is catching on something that's rotating. I've had a look around the area but nothing seems out of place, and as mentioned it doesn't happen whilst being driven normally. Its a blob wrx running K-sport 8 pot 330's.

Any thoughts?

could it be a stone getting stuck from time to time in between the disc and guard ?

ALK if you have it. I had problems with mines but more a metal cluncking noise. Needed to be removed and re-greased with a new outside washer that solved my issue but sounds like yours if different.

Possibly, but why would it only happen on right handers?

No ALK on mine, I'll see if anything is stuck in the guard first

I doubt there IS a guard, given the big brake kit

Could it be the pad scraping on the shoe a bit?

I have the larger k sport/d2 kit and the stone guard is removed as said above
id check the wheel bearing though as I had one fail and it had similar symptoms to yours
jack the car up and see if it has any play in it.
