Default Can I delete my recirculation valve

Hi guys I'm going maffless simtek on my 95 sti Ra so I'm going to redo all my inlet hosing and run a catch can for all my breater hoses. Can I just delete my recirculation valve?
Just replace my turbo inlet hose with no take off blank the rake off on my fmic pipework and block the vac hose going to my inlet manifold.

Any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

Not kind to the turbo. What's the point, ultimately?

Td series turbos can take it I think but vf's are a bit more fragile!! I ran my old evo6 which uses a td05 unit for 1000's of miles with no issues!! Plus the sound is nice

Please see the pic, although this isn't my engine just similar

I'm going maffless so the maff will be gone, I'm running a catch can so all those breather pipes will be gone on the turbo elbow and resonator box. Leaving only the recirculation valve attached. If I can delete this I can just fit a silicone elbow where I like and make a nice neet job of the pipework from turbo to air filter

So It can be done ? However your saying it could have a negative effect on turbo life and performance??

Cheers guys

Yes to release pressure. Spoke with jolly green monster this morning. He said there would be no ill effects.

yes it puts a little more stress on the turbo but the td05 is a tough one..

usually the pick up on the gearchange is better and less chance of a leak.

As above Simon said on older TD04/05 running DVless is no problem

On VF range not sure, some people have problems with running them without the DV,older VF(VF28,VF24/22) has been little bit fragile, with newer not sure if I would run DVless, although we run VF34 without the DV without the single issue

its fine on vf35, I ran dv less for ages.
some people say yes others say no but its the early vf series that are weak.
it may shorten the life of your turbo but even that is hard to prove.

shrek if you are deleting it for the noise, it wont be very loud on a top mounted intercooler.
but it will be still there.

So let me get this right, is it just as simple as removing it and blocking everything off that's to do with it, or is there something else that needs to be done.

Because not all turbos will take it so its habit to fit, noise, rev smith would prefer his subaru to not make the noise of a laughing hyenna when he takes the B road home from sunday service.

block off the pipe to the inlet (recirc pipe) the hole where the dumpvalve goes on your intercooler and the vacuum pipe.

job done

its nowhere near as loud or annoying as a dump valve and has some performance benefit between gear changes
