Diff identification PLEASE !!!
Hi all ,
I am fitting a 160 diff unit into my Triumph Spitfire with a neat , hard to come by kit from New Zealand .
I have decided to run with a 1.5 way Kaaz which I shall have fitted to my new 4.11 currently standard viscous unit by Phil at Road and Race transmissions in Kent .
My rear hubs and discs are MGTF so I will only need the inner CV's to link with the diff and the model numbesr for these ( RH 28092FA030 , LH 28092FA040 ) are listed on the Kaaz site next to the appropriate Kaaz unit ( DBF2035 ) ??/
someone on another forum listed these shaft numbers as inner joint numbers and said the shaft numbers were RH 28021FA030 and LH28021FA171 ???
As I said I only need inner joints but would be happy to take full shafts if I have to .
However, I was looking at Subaru STI plated or Torsen AP units at first and was miss-sold one on eBay . I believe it is a STI RA viscous unit but I would really appreciate conformation of this prior to relisting it .
The unit was listed by a Northern Irland Subaru ' outfit ' as a ' new . 2 way . mechanical . part number ST306005500 ' which appears to me to match infact the plated STI unit, hence why I bought it .
I shall try to link some pictures of the diff in question ( No IT guru!! ) , a picture showing the difference between this type of viscous and the
standard type I have , a picture of the NZ fitting kit and a picture of the car in question .
Any additional information/conformation/contradiction concerning any aspect of the above would be very helpful . Matt . . Thank you , Thank you !!
