Default Engine gone bye bye.

Hi all i think my engine blow today

Looking into options on what to do.
I'm thinking of getting a StI lump to replace my old WRX engine.
Just wanted some options on other ways to go about it. Fix my old engine buy a second hand StI engine or scrap the car?

If you agree with the buying the STI lump is any one selling a good one? And also would i need to change the ECU or any think else?

If a rebuild any one know a good place to get it done? Or prices?

Cheers for any help.

I'd probably break it myself and just buy another one, surprising how much you can make breaking them and my mate does it and there's good money in breaking them

Hi there

Depends on damage, but I would go with rebuild or with 2.1L if its budget on this

If not cheaper fix will be using STi block, but still if you want use AVCS heads you will need to replace loom for STI plus ECU etc and this can be expensive, second option reuse yours heads on the New age STi block and you will don't need change the heads etc.

Just you will need to buy headgasket plus other bits and skim yours existing heads which again will cost some money

Depends on budget, but at first speak to engine builder and ask them for quotes,we are using only Neil@Slowboy racing which is located near Brands Hatch

Good luck

Speak to Scott at scoobyspares or Matt at pole position, both break cars on here all the time.

Hi there

If you want to swap STI v7 engine to yours, you will need aftermarket ECU which can control AVCS or to do full swap including wiring etc, yours current ECU can't control AVCS

As above I said yours option which means,no easy swap if you are looking at more details

At least you are don't need engine, gearbox is cheaper option than engine swap
