Default Help with CEL

Hey guys, weird one here

This morning i took the naff bailey dump valve off my 2002 bug wrx and replaced it with the original, to help i removed the idle control valve connector ( ithink) the one that sits right next to the valve.

I started the car once finished and forgot to put the idle valve connector back on, turned the car off and replaced it and now i have a CEL

Only other thing is that non of the headlights are plugged in as there getting replaced today but i wouldn't have thought the lights not being plugged in would cause a CEL unless it was canbus ?

Any ideas

Will probably sort itself out after a while. Don't know if disconnecting the battery for a while will clear the code on your model as the newer ECUs don't reset by doing this. If it persists I would buy a cheap bluetooth ELM adaptor of ebay and use the torque app with your phone to read the code and reset it.

start your car a few times, as long as the IACV is plugged in the CEL will disappear.

just search for bluetooth OBD adaptor on ebay and loads should come up. A lot simpler way of reading codes than buying a cable for your laptop. The torque app also displays graphs of O2 sensor output, fuel trims and other geeky stuff.
