Default exhaust part query

i have a bugeye STI with PPP and was wondering what this part of the exhaust is. i know the sports cat is in the downpipe and there is a silencer in the center section, but not sure what this part is?? the join on the far left is to the center section.

It should be fine to remove. Its hard to know what it is. it may bring an eml on though. Only one way to find out. Removing it isnt going to do any damage
