Default Front Mount Oil Coolers, who drains them?

Hi all,
As above, who drains their front mount oil cooler on an oil change? Only asking as when I drain mine it's a total pain to get oil pressure when cranking with the crank sensor disconnected even with the filter filled up. I change oil evry 2 to 3 K, & last time I was in a hurry so didn't drain the cooler & got pressure after 10 seconds of cranking, but when I drain the cooler it can take several minutes to get good pressure.

hi id suggest leaving the oil filter unscrewed a thread or two and get a mate to crank over,as soon as oil pours out down the filter
screw the oil filter on to correct tightness, that should work pretty fast, same procedure as when fitting new oil pump.

I'll try that next time. Iv been told not to bother draining it unless the oil is very dirty, but it holds 1L of oil so that wouldn't be a proper oil change, any thoughts.
Thanks, Richard.

I've been told not to bother aswell as long as the oil is changed on regular basis, i do service it every 3k.

I agree i Can't see changing the oil in the cooler every time being an issue as long as frequent changes are being done and the same grade oils being used.
