Default Classic ppp setup

Ive just fitted a ppp ecu to my my99 classic along with a centre non resonated exhaust and uprated silicone intercooler hoses but when purchased the car it had a K and N cone filter fitted.
The car definatly pulls harder but not as well as my old my99 which had the same mods? I've sourced a standard airbox as I'm also getting a hesitant feeling on part throttle so I reckon the k and n really isn't helping power wise? There is also alot of induction noise and whooshing etc which is a bit ott.

Anybody removed a k and n trumpet intake and replaced with a standard airbox and noticed an improvement?

I did a crude timing test and got 5.4secs from 30-70, in comparison my old classic with the same mods did 30-70 in 4.9 secs, so explains why the car feels a little slower than my old one, which went really well.

Also what panel filter should I be going for in the standard airbox? k and n but aren't these still oiled?? also looked at cosworth and pipercross

Just trying to replicate my old car which was awesome but the new ones not quite there power wise yet

cheers mat

Check the preload on your actuator, i found adjusting it helped.

get rid of induction kit and just use a k&n panel with a light application of oil the emphasis being on light!!

I also vaguely remember my old my99 having a different size restrictor pill? would this explain why it felt alot quicker?
Definatly something not quite right, the old car was a flying machine and my latest one seems to struggle??

I think i might invest in a boost gauge also, am i right in thinking 0.9 standard boost and 1.2 for ppp? on a 1999 uk turbo?

Hi thats right on boost,0.94 standard vs 1.2 bar approximately,im using blue cosworth panel one as an alternative. 1.2mm restrictor is still fitted with the ppp ,although sti 5/6 use 0,9mm if thats what you were using before.?

Hmm ill see if I can find some old info on my old car, and thanks for the pill size info but looks like the ppp ecu was designed to run with the 1.2mm pill, maybe I had the 0.9 one? will try and find out
