Paint repair
Hello all
Hope you are well?
I was wondering if any of you know a good paint smart repair specialist in and around Berkshire?
Some ****ers threw egg on my bonnet a few months back and it seems to have eaten away some lacquer
Would this be fixable by smart repair or would the whole bonnet need spraying?
I also have a small scuff on the front end lip and want this doing too
Any help appreciated
Ryan

Egg shouldn't have eatten the paint, never seen that one, bird lime on the other hand!! You should fully wash the car, use a clay bar and gently clay the area, Then either use a da or rotary mop with some fine cutting compound.
Scuffed lip is an ideal smart repair, should have more then an hour

Worked in both bodyshops and smart repair centres, it's possible to use a fade out thinner and soften the clear coat, buff back to a shine, but the bonnet it classed at a "a" area which means most smart repairs aren't suitable due to the size and location of the area. All painters have different experiance, so I would do a job others wouldn't touch and vice versa. I am suprised that the buffing didnt work. At most etching is in the top layer. Had my scooby egged about 4 times last years, everyother day, local kids raiding the egg stand outside the farm up the road, lucky it didn't cause any damage, but they egg white was a **** to wash off as it kept spreading and re-showin it's self as the car dried.
