coolant bottle

Default coolant bottle

hi all, i am putting my 97 classic back together again, but im lost with the coolant bottle in the passengers wing, im not sure what shape it sits, and there seems to be a small hole half way up the bottle, whats it for

pics would be very handy.

The small hole should be at the top. It is the vent. There should also be a large aperture for the pipework from the filler neck (which sits in front of the battery to go into). This pipe goes through a small hole in the engine bay into the wing where the overflow bottle sits. The aperture in the bottle that this pipe fits into faces forward. Bit of a fiddle when I last did it! Can't remember if there are studs on the bottle itself but it is secured onto the inside part of the wing.

thanks for that, i think i have a bracket missing as my bottle is hanging down the way. thats why a pic would be handy.. i will have to study it more, i have rebuilt 3 or 4 scoobys before, must be an age thing...

found this picture on ebay. Doesn't show everything but you can see the connecting pipe to the filler neck and plastic stud top front which is one of the mounting points. Really difficult to takea photo on the car as even if you peal back wheel arch liner you can only see the bottom of it!

thanks mate, got it sorted today, i had it bolted in wrong, now onto the water pump and cam belt .. never ends with these bloody cars. lol
