Default vf35 wanna push it a little more

hi there just had the car mapped by duncan and very happy with it but all ready want a little more power. duncan said its making around 320 bhp but want it making near as possible to the 350bhp mark. its a 2005 wrx with,

japspeed fmic
3 port
pfr7b spark plugs
full miltek decat exhaust
pink injectors
decat uppie
walbro fuel pump
vf35 turbo

was thinking of a sti manifold with the tgv deletes but what else will i need to make the 350 mark ?

what headers have you got?
induction kit?
up-pipe?

would have thought the vf35 would make more to be fair

maybe swap the standard headers for some havey/as performance ported and wrapped headers and maybe try a different induction kit like roger clark etc

have you spoke to duncan about it? has he kept the boost low?

as performance (alyn) does them along with a trick up-pipe,probably wont gain alot more bhp but will certainly aid spool time

as for induction kits im not sure but i would have thought that the rcm is better than the japspeed.

is your exhaust a full 3" bore de-cat?

ive heard of vf35's making 350bhp so it is possible,i would drop duncan a pm as he is very helpfull mate and remember its not all about numbers its how it makes that power, you may only get it to 320-330 bhp but with it set up properly with good early spool it should make for a very entertaining drive

The 35 responds very well with a ported wastegate which is to be honest an essential modification to this turbo as it suffers from boost creep with a full decat, back this up with an uprated actuator set between 0.8-1.0 Bar and you will see good results even on standard headers.

Cheers Iain

I am based in Lyneham Wiltshire, the porting is fairly cheap mate but the actuators cost circa £150 new, I only use Forge.

Ok I'm gonna open a can of worms here but this was tested on 3 rolling roads - andi won't go into it again !

I made 379 of that turbo with the following

Gt2 spec hedders and harvey up pipe
3" down pipe
Nur spec r 3"
harvey FMIC
Andrew Carr map

The vid is on here somewhere !
