Default Cyclic rumble/vibration at low speed

Hello,

I need advice have a cyclic rumble/vibration at low speed from the rear that seems to go away very quickly or is inaudible during normal driving.

I have eliminated tyre rub as I have had 4 new ones and checked while they were doing them.

As usual your help would be greatly appreciated.

Rob

Quite possibly a wheel bearing. Does it get louder or conversly quieter when you turn?

I know all my noises and this one is new, she's generally squeak and rattle free.

As for quieter thats a strange on, its noticable when I turn out of the drive and I heard it twice when coasting in traffic and it was quite bad until I sped up.

I was wondering if it was a wheel bearing, but thought would ask first - so if it is should I replace all four, two rears or just the one?

Sorry for the slow reply!
Depending on your mileage, if your pocket's deep enough, go for a full set. If one is gone there's a good chance another will follow soon!
You need confirmation of the problem. All four wheels off the ground and run the car at 20 mph and listen with a stethoscope against the hubs. Probably a garage job?

Defo sounds like a wheel bearing.
I'd say you could get away without doing sets, I've gone through 3 in the 2 Imprezas I had and with both, the cars were fine for 3-4 years before another one went - think much depends on luck!
In my case, I had a rear one done and then a front one went 2 years later!
