Default Gearbox binding and vibrating badly ***HELP!***

after fitting a secondhand untested box i found it was binding like crazy and the box was getting red hot so i thought it had a bad centre or rear diff so i changed both to a pr i knew were good but car still binds like crazy almost to a standstill - im at my wits end its ment to be in the bodyshop on monday im tempted to put my old box back in ( bad third gear) just to get me through the week

any ideas before i push this bloody thing into the sea

Was the replacement box of the same code? Else you probably need the matching rear diff so that the ratios match or the centre diff will "wind up" and cause the issues you describe, as well as getting very hot and break pretty fast.

If you changed the centre diff did you change the drop gears? If not have you checked to see if they differ from the original box. You might be able to change these to the original ones to make it work, but to be honest I have no idea if you can just chop and change.

Wrong diffs front an back causing wind up. Post up the code on the gearbox and what car you have
