Default rocker gasket

one of mine is leaking.is it a hard job to do?

no, once you can get at it. Removing ancillaries to access is the harder part.

hours work and about £14 a side from import car parts, tip cover the up pipe with a plastic bag, to stop oil getting on it, and buy the six bolt seals

Would you get the full kit half moons as well? And any sealant? Thanks

done 2 in 7years both dry fit and used old half moons, get it all clean though,

I have a 96 import, and i replaced the gasket about 3 weeks ago and done about a few hundred miles and going again!! Is there any kind of kit to deflect the heat from the exhaust?

the only thing you can do to help is heat wrap the up pipe. but if its leaking after a few hundred miles its probably the bolt seal nearest the up pipe at the back, did you replace them as well as the gasket, as they go hard and leak when they get to hot

Ahh no i just replaced the gasket,i will replace bolt seals and wrap the exhaust to try nip it in the bud. Any known knock on effects from wrapping exhaust ie running too hot etc?

been quoted 84 per side plus parts 85 ( found full kit for 46 pounds)

full set of wrapped headers and up pipe on mine 70thousand miles like it so i would say no, apart from cooler under bonnet temps
