Default Better engine cooling

Hi Guys,
I have a blobeye 03 Wrx Sti running over 330bhp, Spec is Simtek chip with other addons and a cosworth flat panel filter.
My question is after driving hard if I lift the bonnet it far too hot under there.

The fan controls the engine heat and it never goes over half way on the guage but what would you do to make it colder in the engine bay.

would you go induction kit away from flat panel or is there anything else i can do to disperse the heat.

Cheers

Dex

not really, the heat will be mostly from the turbo, if its standard i wouldnt worry as they get hot when driven hard, the water is not getting to hot but its more the oil you need to worry about so get an oil temp gauge.

but if the car is standard it shouldnt be a problem as its survived 10 years already.

have you ever put your hand outside the car window when its travelling at 30mph? that'll give you an idea of the amount of air travelling through your radiator, and bonnet scoop. its only warm under there when at a stand still, hot air is quickly expelled once on the move

as above, water pump does its job at keeping actual engine temps down

Default better cooling in engine bay

Thanks guys
i only ask as i had an Evo 6 running 400 BHP had a Tomi Mak bumper so i could get a cold air intake next to induction kit and also Big Intercooler and it did not seem as hot as the STI.

I bow to your knowledge and after I come off the track i will simply lift the bonnet so it cools quicker.

Thanks again guys.

if the car is standard there should be no issues, if its modified an oil cooler will help.
you will get heat soak through the tmic on a standard car so front mounts help this but as most fmic are mounted in front of the radiator this can effect oil temperature.
