Is it worth fitting a FMIC to classic ?
I already have fitted a 2004 straight TMIC to my 95 wrx, but as im in the process of about to get it mapped, is it worth fitting a FMIC to get the best gains from the map ? im not going for big power and i know the TMIC is good for upto 400bhp etc, BUT, is a FMIC more efficient etc or is it not worth fitting, im only looking at upto 300 with my remap but not wanting to do it for big bhp, just is a FMIC the better route, dont want to get it mapped, then fit a FMIC and have it mapped again
cheers for any info........

The amount of lag introduced by a decent FMIC setup, and MAPPED COMPETENTLY, is virtually nil.
You can do even better by getting a set of ported headers and one of Harvey's trick up-pipes, now available from AS Performance.
If you are staying at 300bhp, I wouldn't bother with an FMIC, but be aware, as I wasn't, that heatsoak can be a problem with even a decent topmount......

cheers guys, still seems a mixed responce tho, but i guess if spending £200 or so on the FMIC if it isnt really needed is a bit silly, i thought if i fitted one before i got it all mapped i would save money in the long run by not having to map it again when i do fit one, but if there are not any real benefits except the heat soak, i guess i shall stick with the bigger TMIC i already have.
cheers
