rear suspension knocking

Hi all.
Iv devoloped a fault on my impreza 96 uk 2000 and i can only describe it as a knock that sounds as if the wheel is coming loose off the hub.
It does appear only to be happening once the car has been run for a bit and all warmed up but nothing when its cold and the knocking is coming from the rear of the car.
What i also noticed with the knocking is that when i lay off the accelerator with the car in gear at a steady pace thats when it happens but if i then either put it into neutral and roll or very slightly put on the accelerator when driving there is no knock then.
Iv replaced the rear arb bushes, droplinks for new polybush ones and also fitted second hand type ra shocks with tein lowered springs which i know they were in good condition as they came off my friends classic with no knocks on his car.
Could anybody shine some light on what this problem could be as its driving me wild now
