Question TGV Deletes?

Hi All,

Have been reading through some posts researching whats needed for a small power upgrade on my Bugeye wrx. At the moment all I have is a K&N and full decat. So I've been thinking of STI intercooler, Welbro and a change of turbo, sc36 if funds allow. Thought about the possability of a 3 port boost solenoid? And today I've read about TGV deletes, but cant really find much info about this, what is it, what are the advantages etc etc?

Obviously, once these parts are fitted, there will be a re-map too.

Thanks in advance,

Lee

I am right in thinking though you can fit a newage uk sti manifold, which doesn't have tumblers, and straight swap it onto a newage wrx can you not? I thought you could, hence having one ready to go in my garage, but that article is just makin me question myself. Thanks!

Yeah you can, or just fit the sti tumbler less blocks to the wrx manifold, saves swapping all the fuel pipes and stuff over. You will need to get the tgv fault codes mapped out then though.

So would I be right in assuming that if I fitted a STI inlet manifold at the same time as the rest of my planned mods, that will sort the TGV delete, and the fault codes would be delt with anyway with the remap? or would it need a special map to deal with them?

Thanks, Lee

Yeah that will sort the tgv delete and your mapper can delete the codes when the remap is done. Can all be done at the same time in one go.
