DO NOT re-grind a Subaru crank is the first piece of advice I'd give you.

buy a £500 car and run it whilst you do up the Scooby, the fuel savings and the return on selling it when the Scooby is done will be the most cost effective; sell your bits that you arent using for your new build.

by putting a set of bottom end bearings and my pistons and heads with cometic gaskets would be cheaper for now dont have to find new insurance will the rear thrust uk block be able to cope with 330bhp?

An open deck block will cope easily if put together properly.
The block isn't the issue!
