hi.thought I had a squeal on the a/c pump.so removed it.but after some work, found out that it was the pulley that was squealing.but when I put it back together and fired it up every thing was all right,apart from when I put it in a/c mode the bit with the three lumps on it at the front of the pulley isn't spinning.will this only spin when its gassed up..as its got no gas in it at the moment,,thanks for any help.

 

th clutch only engages when the air con is running, it wont run until its regassed

thanks but a little confused by 2 different answers...the pump was working fine before I removed it...there is a lot of oil that has leaked out and got on to the pulley /clutch end.will that make a difference.

 

the clutch wont engage if there is no pressure in the system, as it worked before you removed it and let the gas out id say the first thing to do is regas and go from there.

 

thanks for that..will I be ok running the car without it been gassed up for a wile,as I have to use it for work.and have to find some where to get it re gassed...
