Default to all japspeed fmic owners need help

hi there today i have been fitting my japspeed fmic with lots of problems. my 1st problem is i have fitted the replacement front bumper beam and now trying to fit the fmic to this beam. i have bolted the two lower bolts under the car but in the step in the instructions : - Then using 2 bolts retained from step “remove factory intercooler” and bracket, secure FMIC.
i cant do this cos the bolt holes on the intercooler do not match up to the cut out on the front beam please help.

Hi bud, I fitted mine not so long ago and if I remember rightly they don't match at all, i think only one fitted correctly but once you bolt the top ones in it won't move at all, think of the bottom ones as just a support, I was told the fmic was for a universal fit so won't match exactly, mine just sat in the bottom brackets and screwed in at the top, I've had no movement at all promise. Good luck mate

yeah your right there the hole for the bolts are well off. so you just put the two bolts in the middle at the top and left the bottom 1s out. if i do this will the intercooler still be in the middle.

so i use that small bracket with 2 holes in that they supplied and place that over the cut out in the front bumper beam and then just move the intercooler over till the bolt holes line up and job done.

When I fitted mine it all lined up, the two tabs at the bottom required a couple of protruding tabs on the bottom beam to be cut back so the FMIC would sit back far enough for the holes to line up, but once I'd attacked it with the tin snips all was good

I had no problem lining up the intercooler to the centre but the brackets did look like they needed madding slightly, but once the pipes were on it was nice and strong so didn't feel I needed to worry about the bottom ones, if you have the time then def worth trying to screw them in place

yeah had that problem too but i cut them off and then the bottom tabs lined up perfect but when i came to do the top 2 which are in the middle wouldn't line up with the front beam cos the cut out was 2 inches off.

Just found out from a friend that mine was fitted with bottom brackets and the top wouldn't line up so left the top loose, sorry for the confusion, once all fitted together its tight and doesn't move

I started fitting mine today.....the tabs at the font, do you have to cut them all the way back including the nuts? I've cut back to the nuts at the moment but still looks short...... Don't you need those at a later date? I'm assuming they do something? ......thanks!

well i hope not cos i had to cut all three tabs off and the nuts so the intercooler would sit in place.
