Default Grp doors and panels for lightweight.

Hi all, im looking into stripping as much weight off my classic four door soon. Ive seen that changing the doors for grp fiberglass can save 75kg!! But i cannot find them anywhere. All ive found is group buys in various forums from years ago. So can anyone point me im the right direction for these kinda doors ? thanks in advance. Aaron.

Hmm, I wonder what the weight saving is over a stripped out metal door vs a fibre glass door?

Aaron_ions, have you got a cage with lateral protection? Otherwise fibre glass doors sounds like a bad idea.

75kg is presumably compared to a full weight door, including glass?

I'm interested in fibre glass doors also, but I'd need to do some calculations first to make sure it's economically viable. I think the standard doors can be made fairly light if you remove the door cards, all the extra steel etc in them and replace the glass with lexan etc.

Oh, and I also haven't found any new age fibreglass doors

Well im not sure where i found it but this thread was a company boasting 75kg weight saving as a straight swap with fully built doors. So -75just from the weight ofthe fiberglass itself. If thats the case even lighter fully stripped with plexi class etc!
