Default Carbon Fibre Boot Lid

Hi all

Ive run into a bit of an issue. My boot lid had been closed however i cant open the boot now via the lever in the drivers side seating area. Ive tried to flick the "open" and "close" catch however this still hasnt done the trick. Does anyone else know how else i can gain access to making the boot lid open up

Cheers all

I take it you mean you've gone behind the rear seats already?

Ok so you've fitted a carbon boot? Is that without a boot lock?
Once the switch is set to open, and you crawl back into the car and pull the lever, the boot still doesn't open?

Hi, I am guessing then that you do not have a key that opens the boot? I had the same issue on my bug (would not open via the lever by driver seat) once I got boot open I found there was a small lever on the side of the lock assembly that when moved to I beleive the up position disabled the lever system by drivers seat.

I moved small lever back down and all worked as normal.

It can easily be knock by mistake when cleaning, hope this helps.

Had the same problem with my carbon boot lid on my bug. I had to take out the parcel shelf and undo the hinge bolts. After that i could lever the boot abit so i could get a spanner to the lock on the boot. Unbolt and then i delt with it. So baisically thats all that was left on the car was the lock dangling. I unclipped it then.

Massive job lol

Cheers for the advice guys. Ive got into the boot n pushed the lever up and down while pulling the boot lid lever to get it to unlock but still not had no joy so thinking it may well be a job to disconnect the actual locking unit.

Thanks guys

Well thats that problem solved, climbed into the boot with a 12mm ratchet, disconnected the top 2 bolts and hey presto all sorted.

Thanks everyone for their advice
