Engine swap help needed asap

My mates got a 54 wrx, engine ha had it completly, found a 1996 wrx engine thts been rebuilt, will it go into the 54?

As a complete unit inc heads or just bottom end?

Bottom end yes

Complete no, well it will fit but injectors, inlet manifold, loom, rails etc will all be wrong for the year
