Default Immobiliser help

Hi guys i have had a lot of running problems with my Legacy 2.5 2000 estate. This did cooincide with some welding i had done on my exhaust but the battery wasn't disconnected. Oops! Anyway i tried lots of sensors ht leads, coil pack and every other thing i could think of as my brother has an identical car, none of this worked so i have purchased a second hand identical ECU and Key with transponder in the hope that this might be enough for the immobilser to let me through, but it didn't. Can anyone tell me what else i might need to get pass the immobiler please!
