Coolant overflow tank
I'm about to move a lot of ancillaries around under the bonnet and at the same time fit an alloy rad. I've been looking at the routing of the header tank overflow and the location of the bottle and was wondering if there was a technical reason for it being built how it is or is it just ergonomics.
I've removed my ABS and have the japspeed overflow tank, but was wondering if I could move it to the same side as the header tank and fit a nipple to connect the outlet directly to the overflow rather than via the (now rusty and manky) metal hose that bolts to the rad
Cheers
Jon

No reason why not, as long as the hose goes to the bottom and there's enough spare volume for overflow.
Only issue may be if the new rad has a cap and the feed from that points to the near side as per the blob rads.
