hi guys i bought this impreza turbo in bits. i started working on it and went to put the belt on and deffinatly missing a part or doing something wrong, its the adjustment for the belt im stuck with, ive attached some photos to see if you can give me a idea of whats missing and what its called. my workshop manula shows it as the belt tensioner but i need some more info and maybe a picture of what it is that fits in the place im pinpointing as i have found many differnt photos.

please help








the last picture shows what i think it should look like, am i missing a bracket etc ? any help welcome

It's spring loaded and damped I think, and pushes against that metal dowel you can see left of your thumb in the third picture.

All those tensioners look pretty rusty, would be worth checking they are reasonable or you may as well buy the kit, same with the water pump really. Effort to do it all again later, but unfortunately higher upfront cost!
