Methanol & castor oil ?
Hello I live in oz & I've been told of 2 different tuning companies, if I want to use methanol then the maximum ratio is 10 % & it must be first mixed in a jerry can with 1% castor oil, as this is a binding agent & without it the methanol will just float on top of the petrol with out mixing?
Is this total BS

I'm sure petrol and methanol mix OK without a catalyst (I haven't used a petrol/methanol mix) but it is certainly true that certain things will not mix without the addition of a catalyst. Methanol mixes ok with castor oil (basis for model glowplug engine fuel) but will not mix directly with certain other mineral oils.
As a matter of interest, methanol with the addition of NF Race octane booster will separate in a matter of seconds!
It may be the case that petrol and methanol, whilst initially mixable, may separate over a period of time? Can someone categorically state that this will not happen?
