Hi, I have an 04 WRX, have been running it for about 6 months now with no issues what so ever but the other day i went and started it and the EML came on, i stopped, checked evrything and it all seemed fine, oil, water, idled fine, no smoke, smell or ugly sounds.

i disconnected the battery for half an hour but that didnt clear it so i left it for the rest of the wkend with the plan to take it to get a diagnostic run on it and get the fault codes.

went and started it just to take it to the garage and on first start there was a fairly rich smell of petrol but that stopped strait away and the EML went out?

does anyone have an idea of what this could be? should i still get the diagnostic done on it, or could it be nothing?

i have been using tesco momentum in it and over the weekend put about half a tank of v-power through it so dont know if that could have anything to do with it? (both 99 ron but it was mapped on momentum)

 

also it seems fine now, just like it was before the wkend
