Default FFS what now!water pi$$ing out

Hello,
on my way home from work the temp guage started going way above normal so pulled over, water pissing out , it sounds like a hose or something is split under the inlet manifold, ( in front and below the TMIC) I need my car to travel up north this weekend so is there any "common fail points" in that area? if it wasn't for the bad luck I have had no luck at all this week! if you pinch the rad hose when the engine is not running you can here the hiss, so I am hoping it is just a hose,
many thanks in advance

yes sounds like u got it covered, i had my go on the radiator my needle temp went up and down as pump lost water. make very sure its the pipe under all the other bits as the radiator would be so much easier to do. when i saw your thread tag it said ffs i thought ah ha flat floor shifting !. hope your luck changes for u.

flat floor shifting that'll be in my dreams for now, does your reply mean it's likely to be a split hose ?or did you mean the water pump?sorry to be dim but I haven't really got time to strip out the intercooler etc to see what might be wrong under there, prior to the weekend, if I don't get there my life and name will be mud in the family!so if needs be I will have to take the train etc, but if it is a common fail then I stand a chance of fixing it tomorow and be away in my prefered choice of transport :-)

found it, the metal heater hose on the left sde of the engine has corroded,it looks like it might be a mare to get out as it dissapears under the inlet manifolds !!
