Default Great Start - central locking problem.

Ok, so I pick up my new car tomorrow, a 55reg Blobeye, I went to sign the docs today and have one final look over the car.

I made sure that all the electrics were working then when I got out the car I pressed the lock button on the key fob, nothing.

Ok then, might be a dead battery, so tried the other key, nothing. So it appears the central locking has given up. How do you reset it? If you don't know, I'm buying this from a vauxhall dealer so I wouldn't hold my breath at them knowing how to do it.

Or do you think it could be anything else? Opinions welcome.

Cheers
Alan

on a blobeye, if the battery's in the keys have gone flat they will need re coded after the battery's have been replaced. You need to see if the vehicle has a pin code wrote down in the manual. as you'll need this in order to program the keys to the car.

arm with the pin code then disarm with the pin code
press the following on the keypad.
*17856*91*2# then press each key once and it should revive the locking again.

Long time indeed mate. Hope your keeping well.

As your sat in the drivers seat look about knee height on the rh side of the dash there's a pocket that folds out. There should be a keypad in there.

I had a proper carry on with my blob eye STI yesterday central locking was playing up as the battery had ran low after sitting in the drive for a week, locks were being daft then when I got in all the lights came on dash but the engine wouldn't even try and turn over.

It took the trusty old scudo running on 3 cylinders to sort it out lol
