Have a look in Tech archive there is a link for free manuals which should provide the info you are after. A quick run through is; remove grill undo two bolts behind grill and third bolt on top of headlight near the wing. Disconnect cable having labelled it and remove the headlight. There is a ball and socket fitting on the headlight so it will need a bit of a pull outwards to free it. You don't say if yours is a WRX or STi. As the WR you need a loom to connect the lights up with as you are going from 1 headlight bulb to two light. On a STi you can just remove the wires from the old bulbs and fit them to the new headlight to connect the bulbs.

One light is dipped and the other is full, I think the full beam unit has the sidelight bulb in. When I bought mine new they came with a loom for each unit, for use with a wrx but as mine is a STi I did not need it so broke it down so Ihad relays with holders for any job I would do.
