Its just a noise mate.
Putting a thicker oil in may make it a little better, but you wont have as much cold start protection,so that defeats the object for me.
If it goes when fully warm, dont worry about it

My car has done that for a couple of years, never caused a problem though, no idea what it is, but maybe something to do with the starter motor.

Im not an expert on engines by all means but I had a similar problem with my old classic wrx, it did it in initial start up then went away after a few seconds so thought nothing of it then it got worse and didn't stop until the engine got warm but still drove ok, it turns out after alot of ball ache and worry it was a sticking valve due to some dodgy oil, keep the oil changed regularly and it might clear the problem I was told but after many litres of good oil later and an empty wallet I got fed up and took it to the garage, it was too late for mine and the valve had to be changed :-( sorry to worry you

start from cold, and lift the revs up and down slowly around the 3250 to 2500 mark,

If the rattle is more around the 3k mark then its a worry. if its a constsnt rattle at all revs its better news.

Thanks for posting up the reason and the result. It's so annoying when you follow a thread such as this but never find out what happened. I'm glad you're sorted out.
