Default Light weight model or not???

Hi all,
I have recently bought my first impreza wrx and am very happy with it.
The reason for the thread is that a friend of mine informed me the because it has black door handles, black side skirts and, black bumper splitters it is a limited edition light weight model??
I must admit the bonnet, doors and , boot lid all se to be lighter than others I have looked at and really just wanted to know if that is the case.
It is a 1996 model wrx in silver. Nothi g special but does feel fast.
Any reply would be great. And if this subject has been covered sorry I did search but dpi d nothing and am new to the world of scooby'a

Thanks again
Tim

would need the chassis code to check out and see what it actually was which should be on one of the metal plates on struts

yeah but most parts could be added as optional extras, also owners can add stuff over the years so the chassis code would be needed regadless and would tell us exactly what model is it as soon as you post it up for someone to read it will look something like.

The boot lid is incredibly light. Thanks for all the replys. I will get the chassis code when I get to work and post it. It may just have had light weight panels fitted at one stage. Us that possible?

All the panels are light, they are made from wafer thin steel.

Only alloy panel is the bonnet.

thanks, are they all quite light anyway? like i said earlier the doors and boot all feel a lot lighter than others i looked at. and the ariel is on the n/s/r 1/4 panel (wing)

i got it quite cheap and it has had a lot of work/money spent on it its got sti intercooler (which im going to change for front mount) apexi power fc inc hand held controler, tdo5 16g turbo, sti brakes and shocks, and 18" wheels. the only problem with it (why i got it cheap) the previous owner had the engine built locally by a 'subaru specialist' who i wont name and who i have since heard terrible things about and that he has messed a lot of engines up recently it only runs on 3 cylinders at the mo so i am going to rip the engine out and have a look at it.
im pretty sure its the main block seal as the head gaskets have been done recently.

thanks again for the help.
