Is there any need for uprated water hoses?
I was thinking about silicone hoses for the water pump bypass and modine cooler while I have the engine out of the car. At £76 for these uprated hoses I'm tempted to stick with the oe stuff which are all in good condition. It's as standard power v3 type r btw.
Is there any point?

They look nice.
In all seriousness though, whilst the engine is out the car I'd be tempted to change them, even just using OEM replacements.

Personally, I would fit OEM hoses unless it's a dedicated Track day tool.

One good thing about them. ive found, is that they dont seem to hang on tenaciously when needed to remove. Rubber ones need prising off if left on for a reasonable length of time
