Default Bought a 96 sti 555 ra V-limited having motor trouble first day

Hey guy, I just picked up a 96 sti 555 RA V-limited and im having a little motor trouble, I think it might be a fuel issuse but not 100%.

Basically, when I'm on it hard it studders/chugs/jerks (not sure how to explain) Around 4,5000, But when i ease into it, its fine it picks up quick, it only does it when I wanna put the hammer down.

Possibly coil packs or plugs breaking down underload.

Ok yeah buddy I bought it from thinks it could be the fuel filter cause it had bad fuel in it when it was shiped over. It's got an exhaust thats about it. He just text me saying its got new plugs and a new pump.

What grade fuel do you have in Canada? Octane rating? It needs at least 97RON really.

As above it could be a number of things, check the coil packs carefully. You need to remove the rubber tips to see if the are cracked.

I filled it with the shell V-power the highest grade, 98 I think it is. The manager of the gas station I filled up at last night is going to double check

If it's decatted it's easy to overboost under load at that RPM boost cut is 1.2bar and easily hit given your boost friendly weather atm also any coils breaking down will be evident at that sort of boost too
