Default Crank advice please

I took my classic WRX crank to my local engineering shop to be measured today.
Although they arent subaru specialists they know how to handle dti gauges and V blocks.
The first thing he noticed were grooves around the front and rear oil seal areas, hes under the impression that these would have been caused by years of wear on the old seals.
Can it be saved or will it leak like sieve with new seals?

Cheers

I would of thought they would know of Speedy Sleeves, you grind down the worn area & interference fit the sleeve, & regrind to the oe dimensions.

Some manufacturers provide a sleeve that fits over the std crank size, & supply a seal to fit the larger id of the crank, with an od that fits the block, don't think its available for Subaru's, as the cranks don't normally last to long with b/e failures.

Thanks Paul, quality advice as per. The local engineering shop is the very local gauge crib where I work. I had a quick google speedi sleeve subaru without much result.
I'm fast losing the will to live with this motor. I'm looking at a diy 2k rebuild without a forged part in sight.
Very very close to changing direction and getting a breakers yard engine.
