Subaru service
Hi..I've had my Sti 2005 ppp for 6 months and its due a service anybody know any good places around the Warrington or north west area to take it? Was thinking of taking it to a Suburu main dealer for a service as its got all Suburu service history previously is it worth it? Thanks

I'm not 'up north' but if I was you I'd try and continue the run if Subaru stamps in your service books.
Imagine 2 identical cars, one with full dealer history and one with full Indy history, I'd go for the main dealer one. That's me but not everyone will agree.
It's about £490 for a major service for my wrx ppp (not incl cambelt) at Subaru and that all fluids changed (engine, diff, gearbox oil etc) and all filters.

Keep all paperwork for any purchases and keep a folder in date order, you can see how the car progresses over a period of time then, and when a potential buyer comes along then you have all the documentation ready to hand that shows the life of the car, that to me is better than a simple stamp as you don't know if it has been done, I can get my booked stamped easily if I wanted, but I keep all receipts to back up what it states in the book along with a breakdown of items used, I.E oil grade, plugs, filters etc that way it all corresponds with each other.
Just make sure its out of the way of your partner if she ain't clued up to the cost of things her indoors found my file not so long back, lets just say she made a few comments

Like I said not everyone will agree with me!!
Course with a main dealer you get receipts just like you would do with an independent service agent. But for me, I'd rather have the service done and the book stamped by a main dealer - they have any updates for ecu (so do some independents I might add) and also do any manufacturer recall work (such as lower suspension control arms on blobeyes) free of charge which obviously independents would not do...

There is a small company in Risley called Tuning developments, they specialise in all cars Japanese and will treat you right. Not a main dealer but worth a try if you don't fancy going to Stockport. Tell them Ian with the buggy sent you if you do use them.
Cheers Ian.
